What you will experience during Bioprocess Immersion

Lectures & Labs

The Bioprocess Immersion program is designed and taught by industry experienced instructors, and offers in-depth and hands-on training. You will gain a solid foundation in biomanufacturing and develop critical skills to confidently perform and troubleshoot all aspects of the biomanufacturing process. Through 8 hours of daily labs and lectures, we will cover topics in Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), commonly used bioproduction seed trains, principles of scale up (pH control, DO control, shear), industry regulatory guidelines, cell culture, ion/affinity and hydrophobic exchange chromatography, protein characterization, analytical testing and protein characterization. Finally, we believe practice and experience are the best teachers. You will practice on bioreactors and AKTA systems.

Total Care Support

For international students, adjusting to living in the U.S. can be challenging. BPI takes care of the details so that you can focus in the classroom. The program includes housing with amenities such as furnished rooms, Internet access, TV, refrigerator & microwave, and washer & dryer. Each participant will also be covered by the BPI health insurance policy and will have insurance coverage during the duration of the program.

Career Development

Each student will be paired with a career advisor, who will provide guidance on career paths in the biomanufacturing industry. BPI will host visits to leading biotechnology companies where you can learn and network. Finally, upon completion of the program, students will receive a certification and work with our job placement team to explore job opportunities.
